This week I want to share The Atlantic’s Animals in the News. 44 pictures that amazed me (#3 the 21-foot saltwater crocodile), broke my heart (#14 slain Navy SEAL Jon Tumilson’s dog Hawkeye next to his master’s casket), and made me laugh out loud (#18 a rabbit jumping over a hurdle at an obstacle course). As you scroll through the collection, notice the different relationships between humans and animals – as savior and killer, friend and foe. Plus, there are quite a few baby animal photos. And who doesn’t like that?

Those pictures were pretty awesome and I learned a lot about different ways of thinking about animals.
