Filleting the fish.
Next Monday, May 16th, is the second annual Party in the Garden at Hollygrove Market. While the party itself sounds impressive – fare from 20 New Orleans chefs and mixologists from restaurants such as Three Muses, Iris, Cure and Martinique Bistro, and live local music – I think it is the raffle that makes this fundraiser a must attend event.
The grand raffle prize is a Farm Tour for 4. Yes, a farm tour.
The winner and 3 guests will tour several North Shore farms that provide produce to the Hollygrove Market. The tour will culminate with a “field to table” dinner for 4 at the Covey Rise Farm and Lodge in Husser, north of Covington.
My husband and I did a similar tour in western North Carolina hosted by an agriculture co-op, and never had I enjoyed a meal as much as when I had met each person that had worked to make it.
What satisfaction looks like!
(Except maybe the time I caught, filleted, and cooked my own fish over an open fire, but that was more satisfying than tasty.)
While the raffle drawing will be held the evening of the event, you do not need to be present to win. But you do need to be present to see who wins and make friends with them. Remember, its a farm tour for four. So mingle!
